Voter Registration Information


TO REGISTER TO VOTE OR TO SIGN UP FOR AN ABSENTEE BALLOT (vote by mail):  Links for the Voter Registration Card and the Absentee Ballot Application are at the top of this page.  Print and fill out the form, sign it and send to the Gallatin County Election Dept., 311 W. Main Room 103, Bozeman MT 59715. For more information call 406-582-3060.

To vote in Gallatin County, you must:

·       Be registered as required by law.

·       Be 18 years old or older on or before the next election.

·       Be a citizen of the United States.

·       Have lived in Gallatin County, MT for at least 30 days.

·       Not be a convicted felon serving a sentence in a penal institution.

·       Not have been judged in a court of law to be of unsound mind.

 

REGULAR VOTER REGISTRATION CLOSES 30 DAYS PRIOR TO ELECTION DAY.  *Note:  If you miss this regular registration deadline, you may still register for the election by showing up at the Election Department in the County Courthouse, 311 W. Main, Room 103, until noon the day before the election, and then from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

NEXT REGULAR ELECTIONS OCCUR AS FOLLOWS:

·       School Election: First Tuesday after the first Monday in May, each year.

·       State and County Primary: First Tuesday after the first Monday in June, even years.

·       State and County General: First Tuesday after the first Monday in November, even years.                 

·       City Primary: First Tuesday after the second Monday in September, odd years, if needed.                  (September 15, 2009)

·       City General: First Tuesday after the first Monday in November, odd years. (November 3, 2009)
